Privacy Policy

This policy describes the technical and voluntary data associated with a visit, the reasons it may be processed, and the limited circumstances in which a service provider may receive it. Continued use of the website signals acceptance of these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not retain a local log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email may be retained long enough to read and answer it. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, standard server and analytics logs may collect technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files that help measure how visitors move through the website. Analytics services combine that traffic into broad performance reports. Browser controls can block cookies, although some functions may then behave differently.

What We Do With This Data

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

El Paso County Court Docket does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court cases or personal case records. It publishes directions to the Colorado Judicial Branch hearing calendar, the Clerk of Court, El Paso County Combined Court / Fourth Judicial District, and municipal clerks. Court-record access is governed by Colorado Supreme Court Chapter 38 P.A.I.R.R. Rule 1 and CJD 05-01, not by this privacy policy. The site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is handled under that provider's privacy terms. Each provider controls its own retention and sharing rules, so review those terms before running a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to a clerk, court portal, legal resource, or outside search service. Once a visitor leaves this website, the destination's policy governs the visit and any data supplied there.

Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal data. Some information may end up with:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable security practices are used for data within our control. No internet system is risk-free, however, and absolute protection against every breach cannot be promised.

Users Under 18

The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A verified request concerning a minor's data will be addressed promptly.

Your Data Rights

Rights vary by residence and the law that applies. Subject to lawful exceptions, a visitor may ask to:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

This policy may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new version becomes effective when posted with its updated date.
